Privacy Policy for GPTs Exporter
Last updated:
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") determines the procedure for processing personal data and measures to ensure the security of personal data undertaken by GPTs Exporter (hereinafter referred to as the "Operator").
The Operator sets as its primary goal and condition for its activities the observance of the rights and freedoms of a person and citizen when processing their personal data, including the protection of rights to privacy, personal and family secrets.
This Policy applies to all information that the Operator may receive about users of the website GPTs Exporter and the associated Chrome browser extensions, including ChatGPT to PDF, Word, Markdown & Google Docs, Claude to PDF, Word & Markdown and Substack to PDF & Word.
If you do not agree to this privacy policy, please do not use our Services.
Our Principles
GPTs Exporter has designed this policy to be consistent with the following principles:
- Privacy policies should be human readable and easy to find.
- Data collection, storage, and processing should be simplified as much as possible to enhance security, ensure consistency, and make the practices easy for users to understand.
- Data practices should meet the reasonable expectations of users.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in multiple ways, including when you provide information directly to us; when we passively collect information from you, such as from your browser or device; and from third parties.
Information You Provide Directly to Us
We will collect any information you provide to us. We may collect information from you in a variety of ways, such as when you: (a) create an online account, (b) make a donation or purchase, (c) contact us or provide feedback. This information may include but is not limited to your name, email address, phone number, payment information and your geographic location.
AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Others) Conversations
We want to emphasize that we do NOT store or retain any of your AI conversations. Your dialogs with AI remain private and are not saved in our systems. We only process the necessary data to convert your conversations into PDF, DOC or Markdown format, after which no conversational data is retained by our service.
Substack Posts
Substack to PDF & Word reads the post you are viewing only when you ask it to export. Markdown and JSON files are made in your browser, and the post never leaves your device. For PDF and Word, the post is sent to our service to create the file, after which no post content is retained by our service. We do not store or share the posts you read or export.
Google User Data (Drive and Docs)
If you choose to use the "Save to Drive" or "Export to Google Docs" features, our extension requests permission to access your Google Drive. We only request access to specific files created by this extension (using the drive.file scope). We do not read, view, or scan your other private files in Google Drive. We only collect the authentication tokens necessary to upload the specific files you have requested to be saved.
So that you do not have to sign in to Google every time you save, connecting Google Drive gives us a long-lived token (a "refresh token"), limited to the same drive.file access. We keep it with your account and use it only to save the files you ask for. It is kept until you disconnect Google Drive or remove our access in your Google Account's settings (myaccount.google.com/permissions). Disconnecting Google Drive on the account page of Claude to PDF, Word & Markdown deletes the token and revokes it at Google. If Google stops accepting a token, we delete it.
Student Verification Documents
If you apply for the student discount, you upload a document that shows you are a student, such as a student ID card or a fee receipt. We use this document only to confirm your student status. It is stored privately, is never made public, and is viewed only by the person reviewing your request. You may cover any details we do not need, such as an ID number or your address.
The document is deleted as soon as your request is approved or declined. After that we keep only the result of the review, the dates it was submitted and reviewed, and, if it was declined, the reason we gave you. If your request is approved, we create a single-use discount code with our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, labelled with your email address so it can be matched to your account.
Uninstall Feedback
When you uninstall one of our extensions, your browser opens a short, optional feedback form on our website. The form's link carries a few details the extension kept on your device: which extension and version you used, when it was installed, a random identifier for that installation, how many exports you made in each format (for example, 12 PDF and 3 Word), and how many exports failed with which error code. It never includes the content of your chats or exports. We save these details when the form opens, even if you close it without answering, together with your browser and operating system and your country (worked out from your IP address, which we do not store). If you answer, your answers are added to the same record.
If you were signed in, the extension also adds a random reference to the link so we can connect the record to your account and its plan; your email address is never put in the link.
We only email you about your feedback if you leave the reply box ticked or type in your email address. We use your answers to improve our products and do not share them.

- Google API Integration: To facilitate the creation of Google Docs and the uploading of files to your Google Drive upon your explicit request. Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
To the extent applicable laws apply, our legal grounds for processing such information are to honor contractual commitments, legitimate interests, legal compliance, and consent.
Security Measures
We have implemented technical, physical, and organizational security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, and/or alteration of your information. We maintain a strict policy of not storing any of your AI conversation data. However, we cannot guarantee that these measures will prevent every unauthorized attempt to access, use, or disclose your information.
Specifically regarding Google Data, OAuth tokens are transmitted securely via encryption and are used solely to perform the actions you request (uploading or creating files). Access tokens are short-lived; the refresh token kept with your account is described under "Google User Data" above.
Data Retention
We retain the information we collect for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes set forth in this Privacy Policy or as long as we are legally required or permitted to do so. Student verification documents are the exception: they are deleted as soon as the review is complete, as described above.
Your Choices and Data Subject Rights
You have rights including email unsubscribe, account preferences, and data subject rights (access, correction, deletion). Contact us at contact@gptsexporter.com.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We will continue to evaluate this Privacy Policy as we update and expand our Services, and we may make changes to the Privacy Policy accordingly. We encourage you to check this page periodically for updates.
